Natural Range: Eastern and Central Cuba
Description: Length 12.5 inches; body green with dark edging; forehead and eye area white; chin, throat, and cheeks pink; primaries and edge of wing blue; belly wine red;iris reddish brown; beak light horn; feet yellow brown.

Common Name(s): Cuban Amazon or Isle of Pines Amazon

Natural Range: Western Cuba and Isle of Pines
Description: Like nominate but darker green; throaght darker pink and belly darker red.

Common Name(s): Cuban Amazon or Grand Cayman Amazon

Natural Range: Grand Cayman Island
Description: Like nominate but somewhat larger and more yellow-green. White on head less extensive; chin and throat more reddish; red on belly less extensive.

 Cuban Amazon or Cayman Brac Amazon

Natural Range: Islands of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.
Description: Like nominate but more yellow green. Somewhat smaller. Belly patch more extensive and more intensely wine red; chin throat and cheeks a richer pink.

Amazona leucocephala bahamensis

Common Name(s): Cuban Amazon or Bahaman Amazon

Natural Range: Great inagua and Abaco.
Description: Like nominate but wine-red belly patch only slightly present or not at all. Also more extensive white on the forehead region. Somewhat larger than the nominate.
Comments about (sub)species: Natural range used to include several bahama islands. Rare in aviculture. I have been able to find very little on this Amazon. Please email me if you have information you could provide.
